Daily Prompt: Me Time

What’s your ideal Saturday morning? Are you doing those things this morning? Why not?

Ideally, my Saturday morning would be spent sleeping in.  I haven’t been able to sleep in in so long that I can barely remember what sleeping in even means.  I woke up before Baby C this morning and I just don’t understand it.  I don’t know if this is a product of age or just a product of all of the drama I’ve got going on in my life right now.  Either way it’s maddening.

I woke up at 6:30 this morning.  Ugh.  Baby C woke up at 7:30.  I tried to go back to sleep but to no avail.  So now that he’s up there’s no going back to sleep for me.

What I’m doing instead is writing this post while he stares intently at the TV watching Super Why.   He loves that show.

I’m sure after this we’ll be watching Elmo DVD’s for the rest of the morning.  Good times, huh?

Hello, my name is Elmo and I’m voiced by an alleged child molester with his hand up my ass.

I just had to take a break to feed Baby C.  He’s weird.  He will only eat if he has something to watch.  For this reason, I have Elmo, Baby Einstein, and Donald Duck videos on my phone for him to watch while he eats.  This morning’s viewing selection was Donald Duck.  At the beginning of each cartoon, Baby C exclaims, “That’s a quack, quack!”  He cracks me up.

Donald Duck rules.

So as you can see, dear reader, my Saturday morning is far superior to yours.  Super Why, Elmo, and Donald Duck.  Be jealous.

  1. Considering my Saturday morning consisted of waking up at 5:12 to let the dog out, then back out at 7 to walk the dog, where I came upon my son’s t-shirt in the middle of the field next to a rolling rock bottle, I think I’ll take Elmo, Donald Duck and maybe even a dirty diaper this morning. Enjoy it Twin!

  2. I’d be jealous, but I actually slept late for the first time in weeks.

  3. Saturday mornings are depressing. That’s why I try to work on Saturdays. If I’m going to be terribly sad I mine as well get paid to do it.
