Releasing the Burden

Life is too much
Emotional overload
Need to calm down
Time to hit the road

Music full blast
Windows rolled down
Transmission engaged
Leaving this town

Cruising along
Wind pummels my face
Accelerator floored
As if lost in a race

Music soothes
I sing like a bird
Pouring my soul
Into every word

Roadmarkers come
Roadmarkers go
The dotted white lines
Passing none too slow

I speed down the highway
Enjoying the ride
My demons falling
To the wayside

They try to keep up
But they cannot last
My worries and stress
Now reside in the past

My once foggy mind
Is no longer clouded
I can see clearly
Vision unshrouded

  3. Alright! But does the picture mean you’re on a road trip to visit “Tops” of Life with the Top Down”?

  6. It’s definitely what I need. Kinda did that on my way to work. Having a holiday means no one is on the road…. Hit 105 without realizing it… Oops.

  8. Nothing better than just hitting the open road with a full tank of fuel and nowhere in particular to go.
